In the era of high tech rapid development, a question of great choice arises among companies that would like to outsource their computing needs. In this article we will highlight the main advantages of so called “renting a rack for a server possibility” – Co-location. Professional equipment of any data center will be able to provide necessary power source, space, network, and cooling solutions. Take a look at these 4 S- points:

Scalability

Did your business hit a slow season? Or is it getting more clientele? Either way there is no problem to scale up or down depending on the needs of your company.

Security

Hosting providers often enhance security of a physical server. As a matter of fact, typical security services consist of locks on a server cabinet, security cards for accessing a Data Center, and having security guards patrol the area.

Stability

In case of unexpected move to a different office, natural disaster or power outage, your server will stay connected. As a rule, hosting providers have multiple backup generators, which means a dual power source.

Superior Connectivity

Data Centers are supplied with centralized cooling facilities that ensure the right temperature enabling a server to perform 100% of its power. Great bandwidth speed and excellent redundancy are essential parts for the ongoing performance of any server and collocation providers focus on it.  Just imagine maintaining the same IT infrastructure in your office!

Cloud computing is an advanced solution for businesses with multiple offices or remote employees. It delivers computing infrastructure, apps and even business processes as a service. Choosing the right Cloud Hosting provider, which enables using the Cloud to its fullest potential, will equip you with the power to better regulate and monitor business processes, reduce costs and increase efficiency.

Let’s take a look at the reasons which allow Cloud Computing to hit the mainstream.
The first and most important reason lies in the significant reduction of costs. Not only do business owners not invest anything in terms of building their own infrastructure and purchasing equipment, but also the pay-as-you-go model allows paying only for the services you consume. This can be compared the how individuals pay for their water at the end of the month. Cloud services include the delivery of software, infrastructure, and storage over the Internet based on user demand. As we move further down the list of advantages of the Cloud, we will find that one of the essential characteristics is elasticity which actually means that the Cloud can scale upward for peak demand and downward for lighter demand. And finally, the Cloud is easy-to-use thanks to standardized interface.

According to the research carried by British Telecom, IT security is not found in the highest priorities among European businesses. Only 20 % of big-scale European companies are ready to invest a large chunk of money in cyber security; and this is in the contradistinction to the 41% of American companies. Just over half (58%) of European organizations can measure the return on investment (ROI) in the implementation of safety measures in cyberspace compared to 90% of U.S. companies. In addition, 86% of directors and senior executives of U.S. companies are trained in the field of information security, while in Europe the identical trainings are attended only by 44% of managers.

Such a discrepancy might be explained by the different intense and frequency of attacks. In fact, European cyber space is less likely to have any of such problems as malicious insider threats, hack attacks, and organized crime in comparison with the rest of the world.

As a prediction for 2014 hack attacks and malicious insider threats are going  to be the greatest risk for cyberspace.

Have you ever encountered an extremely slow network performance or experienced an excessive increase in the number of spam emails? Do you know firsthand what a long term denial of access is? In all of these cases, you were “introduced” to such a harmful tool of disablement of any web- resource connected to the Internet as a DDoS attack.

First, let’s take a look at what exactly a DDoS attack is and what its purpose is in such a highly competitive society. A distributed denial-of-service attack is a type of attack on a network designed to bring the network to a halt by bombarding it with useless traffic. Under such an attack, your web-resource cannot respond to legitimate users. Unavailability followed by downtime of a webpage will inevitably lead to a high financial loss by a company which might be very beneficial for a light-fingered rival. Unfortunately, such and economic consequence might only be the tip of the iceberg since the real complication could be your damaged reputation as a business owner.  Frequently, your clients’ personal information is the main target of hackers. Sometimes DDoS attacks act as a weapon in a political struggle. Ideological hackers often target government agencies and companies which have a clash of opinions.  As we see, a DDoS attack turns out to be an unaffordable luxury.

The good news is that AtomDrive is capable of providing shelter to web-resources of any scale. As a result of close cooperation with Solar Communications, AtomDrive is proud to present a technological solution for detection and immediate response to any type of DDoS attacks with a guaranteed effect of thorough traffic filtering. As AtomDrive goes above and beyond to make its network free of menaces of any kind, a basic DDoS protection is provided free of charge with any server group starting with the Classic Mode.

This is also important to mention that the DC of AtomDrive is located in a country famous for its economical stability and political neutrality, Switzerland, which guarantees the physical safety of the servers.
