Have you ever encountered an extremely slow network performance or experienced an excessive increase in the number of spam emails? Do you know firsthand what a long term denial of access is? In all of these cases, you were “introduced” to such a harmful tool of disablement of any web- resource connected to the Internet as a DDoS attack.

First, let’s take a look at what exactly a DDoS attack is and what its purpose is in such a highly competitive society. A distributed denial-of-service attack is a type of attack on a network designed to bring the network to a halt by bombarding it with useless traffic. Under such an attack, your web-resource cannot respond to legitimate users. Unavailability followed by downtime of a webpage will inevitably lead to a high financial loss by a company which might be very beneficial for a light-fingered rival. Unfortunately, such and economic consequence might only be the tip of the iceberg since the real complication could be your damaged reputation as a business owner.  Frequently, your clients’ personal information is the main target of hackers. Sometimes DDoS attacks act as a weapon in a political struggle. Ideological hackers often target government agencies and companies which have a clash of opinions.  As we see, a DDoS attack turns out to be an unaffordable luxury.

The good news is that AtomDrive is capable of providing shelter to web-resources of any scale. As a result of close cooperation with Solar Communications, AtomDrive is proud to present a technological solution for detection and immediate response to any type of DDoS attacks with a guaranteed effect of thorough traffic filtering. As AtomDrive goes above and beyond to make its network free of menaces of any kind, a basic DDoS protection is provided free of charge with any server group starting with the Classic Mode.

This is also important to mention that the DC of AtomDrive is located in a country famous for its economical stability and political neutrality, Switzerland, which guarantees the physical safety of the servers.

The unique chips, which are produced by 22nm 3D Tri-gate Transistors Technology, have up to 15 cores.  Hyper-Threading Technology allows them to process up to 30 instructions streams.

Upon the official introduction by Intel Xeon E7 v2 chips replaced the previous generation of chips- Xeon E7.

With the 22nm 3D Tri-gate Transistors Technology new chips have been improved so now they contain total of 4,31 billion Transistors and have 541 square millimeter die.

To the introduced Xeon family of processors belong Xeon E7 2800 v2, 4800 v2 и 8800 v2 for servers with the number of processor sockets to two, four and eight, respectively. The number of cores depending on the modification varies from 6, 8, 10, 12 or 15.

At the moment a total of 20 products of the new generation came out. Clock frequency varies from 1.9 to 3.4 GHz. Turbo Boost is held responsible for increased productivity under intensive computing. The third level Cache reaches up to 37.5 MB. The maximum value of heat dissipated energy (TDP) - 105, 130 or 155 watts.

The chips are supplied with two controllers DDR3; maximum memory per one processor socket is 1.5 terabytes. Achieving max memory bandwidth the developers have made a number of updates. The Integrated controller PCI-Express 3.0 now supports 40 lines.

The comparison of the new generation chips to alternative RISC-architectures products shows that Xeon E7 v2 has higher performance up to 80% with a much lower cost. If we compare the new chips with the previous generation Xeon processors, the average speed has doubled, and the capacity of input-output has increased in four times.

The target audience for the mentioned above chips are large-scale business projects.

Well know companies such as Cisco, IBM, Hitachi, Oracle and Supermicro have already expressed their support of the new generation Xeon chips E7 v2.

According to the results of the study the Cisco Systems switches demonstrated superior performance when transferring data via 40GE ports and they also stand out for their IT solutions speed. Regardless of frame sizes, these switches are identified by low latency and show a 65% better result than its competitors. In addition to these, the mentioned model-Cisco Nexus 9508 needs 36% lower of power consumption per 40GE port compared with the most energy efficient solutions in the industry.

This is important to mention that Cisco Nexus 9000 Series switchers are designed to support large data centers, large-scale cloud infrastructure and corporate networks.

TeamViewer®  has announced the launch of TeamViewer9, the updated version of software for remote support of Windows, Mac OS and Linux.

Let’s take a closer look at the new main features of TeamViewer9 which make it outstanding and even more user friendly.

First of all, Wake-on-LAN allows users to turn on remote computers over the Internet from any device whether it’s a desktop, laptop, tablet or smart phone. Thanks to Service Queue IT-support teams are able to manage requests in a more effective way by sharing and assigning them that provides instant customer support. In addition, users gained the ability to join remote support session by entering a unique code without submitting their personal information.

In an updated version of TeamViewer there is an additional layer of security of users’ accounts gained by Two-Factor Authentication. Besides, it gives the possibility to share large files and copy necessary material from any device and paste straight onto a remote desktop in an old-fashioned way - Ctrl+C/Ctrl+V.

A new public API is one more surprise by the developers of TeamViewer9. It has been designed in order to help corporate companies to integrate TeamViewer funcionallity into their own infrastructure. Gladly, API is available for all who have purchased a TeamViewer 9 license.
